Mark Overend is currently studying for a further qualification in cardiology. He completed 2 years of additional training and study throughout 2001 and 2005, and has been accepting referrals in cardiology since 2001. Mr Overend has also lectured to vets all over the UK on Ultrasound for the GP.
We offer a full cardiology referral service, including ECG, Radiography , BP monitoring, echocardiography and endoscopy/broncho-alveolar lavage..
Echocardiography would include standard M- mode evaluation, colour flow doppler , and spectral (pulsed wave and continuous wave) doppler, trans-valvular velocities and pressure gradients if necessary. We are also happy to give opinions on pericardial effusions, perform pericardiocentesis and are equipped to perform exploratory thoracotomy, sub-total pericardiectomy, PDA closure etc.
